The Woodbridge Company

The Woodbridge Company Limited is a Canadian holding company owned by the Thomson family and the principal shareholder (53 percent) of ThomsonReuters.

It is the primary investment vehicle for the Thomson family. The company has a controlling interest in The Thomson Corporation, a world leader in providing integrated information solutions.

Woodbridge also owns the largest (40 percent) stake in CTVglobemedia, which owns The Globe and Mail daily newspaper in Toronto, 15% of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, CTV, Canada's largest TV network and A-Channel.

David K.R. Thomson and his brother, Peter J. Thomson, became co-chairmen of Woodbridge on their father's death. The Woodbridge Company Limited is based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
