The Waterman Movie is a 2008 animated comedy film based on the popular online animated series Waterman. The movie stars Bryan Waterman and Leslie Nielsen as Ready Espanosa. It is a full length ninety minute feature film. Planning for the project started in September 2006 but the project itself was not announced until March 16, 2007. The same day as the announcement a trailer was released on the Waterman Studios website. As of early 2007, script work, artwork and voice work has been finished and the project has moved into the animation phase. The film will be released straight to DVD along with the nine other episodes of the series.
[edit] Plot
When famed comedy rock duo 16Buttons Of Justice (voiced by Waterman and Farmer) is informed of the tremendous failure that is the 16Buttons of Justice TV Show, the duo must come up with a plan to send ratings through the roof, before the show is cancelled!
Soon after hearing that Ready Espanoza (Leslie Nielsen), father to 16Buttons of Justice front man Raccoon X. Espanosa and world famous explorer, has gone missing, the duo decide to document their own rescue attempt to save the greatest adventurer of all time.
[edit] Production
The film entered pre-production stages sometime in September 2006. It was not until half way through March in 2007 that Waterman unveiled the movie. He stated in one of his blogs that "One of the reasons I was pushing to reach the twenty-two minute mark with the ninth installment of the Waterman series was to see if what we produced could keep you entertained as long as a half hour television show would". As of September 2007, the film has finished all script and vocal work, and is currently in the artwork phase. In a blog posted in June 2007, Waterman stated "I am very pleased with how everything has been going so far with production. The animation tests I've seen are top notch, and the artwork looks fantastic!".
