The Waterfront is one of the leading music venues in Norwich, Norfolk. It is managed by the University of East Anglia Student's Union. It is also a nightclub which is situated on King Street close to Norwich City Centre and the Riverside leisure development. It has been run by the Union of UEA Students since 1993. It is not however a student club and entrance is open to anyone. The Waterfront operates all year round: Fridays and Saturdays are regular club nights and live music takes place on a further two or three nights a week. The building comprises two floors. The ground floor contains a 700 capacity main room with integral bar, dressing rooms and toilets. The first floor is has 200 capacity room, a café bar and an open plan office.

- First ever gig was MEGADOG, 547 customers, came to see Aphex Twin, Banco de Gaia, & Eat static on 1st Dec 1993
- Originally a brewery bottling plant for Trumans on the oldest street in Norwich.
- Opened under The Waterfront Student Union Services on the 1st December 1993.
- The 4th gig ever done was THE VERVE.
- The 1st sell out show was D’REAM in February 1994.
- The 1st ever allnight music licence in Norwich, which was done every Friday in the heyday of Milky Lunch and the Kitchen.
- On Sun 8 Dec ‘96’ Kenickie + The Stereophonics played upstairs in the studio to 109 people paying a mere £4.50. The Stereophonics were really chuffed when they were given a sandwich and soft drink rider (very rare for tour supports), they weren’t quite so pleased when they got stuck in the lift for an hour while loading out equipment.
- Tue 28 October ‘97’ Roni Size’s Reprazent played, they had just won the Mercury Music Prize. It was recorded live for the BBC for a later broadcast.
- Paul Weller personally chose to play the Waterfront on the 14th April 2000 as a warm up gig before doing an arena tour.
- The Darkness played to 237 people on 2nd April 2003, six months later where were they?
- In October 1999, UEA student Georgina Drake won a gig for SKUNK ANANSIE to play, demand was so great Kerrang! sponsored another sell out the following night.
- The walls are over 20 inches thick to give amazing soundproofing.
- Over 1 million customers have been entertained since Dec. 1993.
- The ridiculous raised wooden dance floor was removed Jan 2003.
