In the film, Carradine, in the role of the mercenary warrior Kain, sets Zeg and Balcaz, rival warlords, against each other in a battle over a town's only well. The action is set on Ura, a desert planet with two suns.

As the movie's title suggests, this film is the sword-and-sorcery genre of fantasy. The film used the tagline, "An age of mystery and magic . . . of swords and sorcery."
According to the IMDb, The Warrior and the Sorceress is "a fantasy version of the classic Japanese film Yojimbo, which was later remade as A Fistful Of Dollars [1]."
