"The Warrior" is the name of a popular song by the group Scandal. It appears on the album of the same name. The song was written by Nick Gilder and Holly Knight and went to number one in Canada and number seven in the US. The song also won a BMI Airplay Award.
Björk claims "The Warrior" to be one of her favorite songs, claiming that it inspired her to be a musician.[citation needed]
From 2001 to 2004 the song was played before the players came out at Rugby League team Wigan Warriors home matches.
The song was used for the Charles Barkley highlights sequence of the 1988 video NBA Superstars.
The song was featured in the Family Guy episode "Petarded" (season #4, episode #6, total 54th episode in the series) where Stewie was featured in an iPod commercial dancing to this song in silhouette.
The song appears as a master track in the video game Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s. Because of this, this song is one of the two only songs in the whole history of the game to ever end in a fade-out (the other being Twisted Sister's "I Wanna Rock").
Hit the Lights, a pop punk band, covered the song.
The song was featured on the video game, Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories, on fictional radio station Flash FM.
