The War of the Worlds was a ZX Spectrum video game developed and released by CRL in 1984. The game is based upon H.G. Wells' book The War of the Worlds, and was tied in with the Jeff Wayne's 1978 musical adaptation, making use of the same artwork on its cover.

Gameplay required the player to visit a series of sites in and around London, by moving a person using cursor keys or a joystick, and occasionally making choices such as whether to hide, run or stand still.

The game was something of a flop, being unpopular with reviewers because it ran very slowly. The player was often killed and forced to begin the adventure from scratch.
