[edit] History
On July of 2005, the MGHerring Group, the developer of the mall, announced that they would be built in the upcoming months and would have a grand opening of 2007. Construction initially started in October 2005. During the Summer of 2006, however, construction came to a hault. Due to a lack of a blueprint for the shopping mall, the opening of the mall was postponed. The mall is currently owned by Dallas-based MGHerring Group. The mall is scheduled to open in 2009.
[edit] Format
After the announcement of the coming of Bass Pro Shops, the format of the Village of Riverwatch changed. Now it is proposed to have both an upscale lifestyle center and a power center theme.
[edit] Location
The Village at Riverwatch is located on Riverwatch Parkway along the banks of the Augusta Canal and the Savannah River. The shopping center is visible along Interstate 20.
