[edit] Plot
In fifteenth century France, the irreverent beggar Francois Villon (singer Oreste Kirkop) is crowned "king for a day" by King Louis XVI (Walter Hampden). He patriotically rallies his fellow beggars to fight when Paris is invaded by the Burgundians.
