The Tyranny of Numbers is a nonfiction book by David Boyle. It was published by Flamingo in 2001 (ISBN 0-00-653199-7). The tagline and theme of the book is "Why counting can't make us happy".
This book focuses on the history of the use of metrics in the world today. The author's premise is that:
