The Turtle and the Hare is the ninth episode of the first season of the HBO television series Sex and the City. It originally aried on August 2, 1998.

Carrie is unhappy when Mr. Big tells her that he never wants to get married again. Charlotte becomes addicted to a vibrator called "the Rabbit" recommended to her by Miranda. Stanford Blatch suggests that he and Carrie marry so that he can claim the inheritance that his grandmother gives when his relatives get married. They think it would be good if they do it since they enjoy each other's company and interests (men included). When he takes her to meet his grandmother she asks Carrie if she knows he is a "fruit", she then realizes they are not going to fool her.
