The Tube (radio series)

"The Tube (TV series)" was resurrected in 2006 by Manchester based production company UK One Productions for Channel 4 Radio and produced by Tom Smetham and Stephen Chapman, founders of GNA Trading, the company behind Versus Cancer. It ran monthly from October 2006 to March 2007 always broadcasting on the 1st Friday of the Month. It was hosted by Blur Guitarist Alex James (musician), Blue Peter Presenter Konnie Huq, Factory Records founder and music mogul Tony Wilson and Emily Rose.
"The Tube Radio" brought critical acclaim and featured several world exclusives from artists -
REM, New Order, DJ Shadow, Kasabian, Keane, Jamie T, The Ting Tings, Enter Shikari, Lil Mama, Candie Payne, I am Kloot, Clinic, Elliot Minor, The Revelations, Camera Obscura, The Sounds, Dragonette, Panda Bear, Peter & The Wolf, Dan Sartain, Headland, Vib Gyor, Akira The Don, Ripchord, Karima Francis, Stefy
Many of these artists were found as they were on the cusp of fame. Most have since enjoyed massive chart success and were almost unknown at the time of broadcast.
