- 20 March 1974 - Michael Herbert (31) and Michael Cotton (36), both members of the British Army, were shot dead by the Royal Ulster Constabulary, in error, while sitting in a stationary British Army civilian type van, Mowhan, near Markethill.
1982
- 16 November 1982 - Ronald Irwin (24) and Snowdon Corkey (41), both Protestant members of the Royal Ulster Constabulary, were shot dead by the Irish National Liberation Army while at a security barrier, Markethill.
