1971
- 18 December 1971 - James Sheridan (20), John Bateson (19) and Martin Lee (19), all Catholics and members of the Provisional Irish Republican Army from Ballymaguigan, died in a premature bomb explosion while travelling in a car at King Street, Magherafelt.
1982
- 20 April 1982 - Noel McCulloch (32) and Wilbert Kennedy (36), both Protestant civilians, were killed in a Provisional Irish Republican Army car bomb explosion at The Diamond, Magherafelt. Warning was given, but not passed on it time.
