1976
- 17 July 1976 - Peter McElcar (24) and Patrick Cannon (20), both members of the Provisional Irish Republican Army, were killed in a premature bomb explosion while travelling in a car, Castlederg.
1984
- 14 July 1984 - Norman McKinley (32) and Heather Kerrigan (20), both Protestant members of the Ulster Defence Regiment, were killed in a Provisional Irish Republican Army land mine attack on their foot patrol, near Castlederg.
1991
- 12 August 1991 - Patrick Shanaghan (33), a Sinn Féin activist, was shot going to work, near Killen; case went to the European Court of Human Rights.

Olven Kilpatrick, part time member of the UDR, was murdered in his shoe shop in Castlederg by IRA on the 9th January 1990, after he was shot and murdered the terorists planted a bomb to try and catch members of the security forces and the public, which later exploded burning down the shop in the middle of Castlederg.
