[edit] Plot summary
On its way to join Operation Odessa, the White Base attacks mines which had been captured by Zeon. Amuro and Hayato are fighting enemy mobile suits when Bright, showing signs of fatigue, collapses in the bridge. Sayla tells Mirai that they’re still in battle so she can’t help Bright at the moment so it’s Job John who takes Bright to the infirmary. Meanwhile, M’Quve orders Judock, a Zeon double agent, to tell the Federation’s General Elron to slow down Federation activity in Europe as much as possible. M’Quve decides to deal with the "Trojan Horse" himself.
Mirai visits Bright at the infirmary; Amuro asks Fraw where Bright is and she tells him he collapsed and has a high fever. Amuro then goes to visit Bright. Nearby, Zeon soldiers in jet packs plant bombs on the White Base’s portside. The bombs explode and Mirai takes over command. She is informed that the Minovsky particle emitters are damaged, therefore exposing the ship to enemy radar. Their own radar, however, is still operational. Twenty Dopp fighters approach and Mirai orders Amuro and Hayato to launch with the Core Fighters.
Once launched, Amuro and Hayato soon find out that there is another Dopp formation approaching, severely outnumbering the Core Fighters. The Dopps attack the ship and Sayla orders a defensive barrage. Several Goufs appear soon after, and Bright, realizing they’re under attack, tries to get to the bridge. However he is still very ill and in his delirium orders Ryu to go out in the Guncannon.
Mirai wants Amuro to form into Gundam, but Sayla considers it too dangerous to change in the middle of the battle. Mirai then orders Amuro to combine with the Gundam modules midair. She orders Hayato to return to the ship and combine with the Guncannon modules. Amuro and Hayato re-launch and fight the enemy Goufs. Zeon attackers force the White Base to change course without realizing they’re being led into a trap set by M’Quve. He allowed them to keep their radar as part of his plan.
Amuro and Hayato are still fighting Goufs and the Dopps break off. Sayla says they should follow the Dopps and destroy them before they come back again. A mega particle cannon fires from the ground and rips straight through the ship’s portside. Amuro then destroys the cannon with a volley of his beam rifle before the mega particle cannon fires a second time.
Mirai breaks down when Job says the engines might explode. The White Base crashes on the ground and Sayla assumes command. She orders smoke bombs as decoys to make Zeon scouts think the ship is far more damaged than it really is. Mirai regains some composure and orders Sayla to send a message to General Revil, asking for help. When Amuro asks what the status of the ship is, Sayla answers that she doesn’t expect they’ll make it to Odessa Day.
