The Theatre of Small Convenience
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Theatre of Small Convenience is a theatre in Worcestershire, England, which entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the smallest theatre in the world, in 2002[1] [2]. The theatre has a capacity of 12 people seated, or 16 people standing.
Located in Edith Walk, Great Malvern, the theatre was founded by puppeteer Dennis Neale in 1999. It was converted from a derelict Victorian Gentlemen’s public convenience, hence the name. The theatre has regularly hosted puppetry, professional and amateur actors, drama, poetry, story-telling and opera.
The theatre has become a regular venue of the Malvern Fringe festivals and in 2005, the theatre was chosen as one of the venues during an international puppet festival [3][dead link].
