[edit] History
Tech Report was founded by Scott 'Damage' Wasson, a Harvard Divinity School graduate, and Andy 'Dr. Evil' Brown. Both started by writing obscure computer hardware humor at Ars Technica in 1998. After writing for Ars Technica for some time, they decided to strike out on their own.
Tech Report was originally located at tech-report.com. The site was moved to techreport.com in 2003.
On August 20th, 2007 a beta for a new design was posted in the forums, it has since been moved to live.

[edit] Community and Forum
Tech Report has a community and forum that is open to the public. While the majority of the discussion on the forum revolves around computers, debates range from politics and religion in the R&P forum to general random chatter in the Back Porch. Contributors to the website also have their own subforum called the Smoky Back Room.
[edit] Main Page
The regular feature of the website is the homepage which has a breakdown of contributions made by writers. Usually dispersed among the page is "Shortbread" which offers a daily breakdown of reviews and news offered by other sites. It is interesting to note that The Tech Report does not feature links to Toms Hardware Guide showing the strong rivalry between the two sites.
