The Sydney University Symphony Orchestra

The Sydney University Symphony Orchestra (SUSO) is the premier orchestra at the University of Sydney's main campus in Australia.

SUSO was founded in 1948 as the "Pro Musica Orchestra" and is currently made up of around 70 musicians from all faculties across the university.

SUSO has been conducted by George Ellis since 2006.

SUSO's main sponsors are the University of Sydney Union and donations from the public.

[edit] Previous Concerts

SUSO has played repertoire from Mozart to Edwards and Sculthorpe.

SUSO has also played concerts with many choirs including the Sydney University Musical Society[1] and the Madrigal Society [2].

On May 31 and June 3 2006, SUSO played with the Sydney University Musical Society for Ben Macpherson's farewell concert. This concert was broadcast on 2MBS FM.
