The Sword of Bedwyr (1994) is the first book in the Crimson shadow series of fantasy novels by R. A. Salvatore. Terry Brooks said about this book that it's "[a] fine adventure filled with memorable characters and compelling action."

For 20 years the lands of Eriador have suffered under the evil power of the Wizard King Greensparrow. Luthien Bedwyr does not understand the situation, until his friend is murdered by the king's thugs. He teams up with the wizard Brind'Amour in a rebellion against their evil overlords. [1]

It is followed by Luthien's Gamble (1996) and The Dragon King (1996). The three books were published as an omnibus in 2006 under the title The Crimson Shadow.
