The Sword is a monthly comic book limited series created by the Luna Brothers and published by Image Comics. It is a modern day based fantasy story about a group of people seeking to take control of a unique sword from the grasp of a young woman named Dara Brighton. The first issue was published in October 2007 and the series is expected to run for two years.

Dara Brighton is a young paraplegic college student with a happy life, until three strangers knocked on her door, asking for a unique sword, before killing her father, mother and sister and burning their house. Dara crashes into the basement, where she finds a sword, setting her off on an incredible journey...[3].
