The Sunflower

The Sunflower (Italian: Il Girasole) was a political alliance of two Italian leftist parties for the 2001 general election, namely:
- Federation of the Greens (Federazione dei Verdi)
- Italian Democratic Socialists (Socialisti Democratici Italiani)
It was founded to benefit from the proportional list system employed; however, they received too few votes to benefit from their alliance (they did manage to enter Olive Garden on the common list of the Olive Tree, however), and it was disbelted soon afterwards.
