The Student School
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
TheStudentSchool[1] is an alternative high school in the Toronto District School Board. It has 160 students. It is located at 132 Evelyn Crescent, Toronto, in the same building as Western Technical-Commercial School and Ursula Franklin Academy
TheStudentSchool allows students to vote on school policy along with teachers. Each student and teacher at TheStudentSchool gets one vote. TheStudentSchool also has a unique absence system, where students are not penalized for absences until the fifteenth one, at which point they must appeal to a teacher council in order to receive course credit.
Much like several other alternative schools, teachers are on a first name basis with students at TheStudentSchool.
