The Strong Breed is one of Wole Soyinka's most humorous plays. It is a comedy that ends with an individual sacrifice for the sake of the communal benefit. Eman, the play's protagonist, sarificed his life willingly, acting in the process as Ogun, Soyinka's favourite Yoruba god. It is one of Soyinkas best known plays.
