The Story of a Noble Family (金粉世家 / Jin Fen Shi Jia) was a major drama series produced in Beijing, China. It was a drama about a poor girl who meets a young man from a family of nobles. Their nobility keeps them from being together, but they continue to date. Another girl from a noble family also falls in love with the man. In the end they break up when the poorer woman is pregnant. The house where the poorer woman is living went on fire, and the noble man regrets his actions and falls to the floor, kneeling. He believes that his wife had died, along with his child. However, the woman had actually escaped with the baby and went back to her poor family. In the end, you see the noble man hugging his wife at the train station, though it was actually his imagination. It is a story of love, pain, and drama. This takes place in an older time in China, when there were still people who followed the laws of nobility.

This film was produced with a total of 40 episodes. It aired on CCTV-8. This film is in the Chinese dialect of Mandarin with Chinese subtitles.
