The Springfield College (TSC) is an independent, co-educational day school, located at Springfield, a suburb in South East Queensland, Australia.
The school is a joint initiative of the Anglican Church of Australia and the Uniting Church in Australia. It is operated by EDUCANG Limited, along with Forest Lake College, Mary McConnel School, The FLC International Centre and The Lakes College.
The current campus, on Springfield College Drive, Springfield, will eventually house just the Junior School (Prep to Year Six).
A separate campus is being established for the Middle School (Years Seven to Nine) and for the Senior School (Years Ten to Twelve) on the Springfield - Greenbank Arterial.[1] Construction started in mid 2007 with completion expected by 2019. It will have an ultimate capacity of 700 students.

The Springfield College was established in 1998, with an enrolment of eleven students. Student numbers have grown quickly and it now has an enrolment of 480 students, from Prep (pre-school) to Year Nine.
In 2007, enrolments outgrew facilities - a result of the delayed start of the new Middle/Senior School campus - and Senior School students (Years Ten to Twelve) were transferred to sister school Forest Lake College.

The Springfield College has four clans, named in honour of some of Scotland's proudest and most historic families. Each clan has its own crest, which is displayed on the student's sports uniform.

[edit] Curriculum
The Springfield College's curriculum includes individualised training in the academic, cultural, social, spiritual and physical domains. The Springfield College's academic curriculum offers a range of science, humanities and vocational subjects.
The Springfield College believes there are three discrete stages of a child's education:-
- the foundation studies of early childhood,
- the middle years of development and growth, and
- the final years of preparation for adult life.
The College structure reflects these stages of individual development, rather than the traditional Primary and Secondary Schooling distinction.[2]
[edit] Mandarin Chinese
Mandarin Chinese is the College's official Language Other Than English (LOTE) and is taught in all classes from Prep (pre-school) upwards.
In Years Eleven and Twelve, it may be taken as an elective subject.

All The Springfield College students from Prep (pre-school) onwards learn to play an orchestral musical instrument.
Students in Prep and Years One, Two, Three and Four receive instruction in the violin.
From Year Five, students may elect to continue with the violin, or they may prefer to choose from a range of other string, woodwind, brass or percussion instruments. Students will be guided in their choice by the College Instrumental Music Instructors.

OPs or Overall Positions, provide a statewide rank order of students (on a 1 to 25 scale, with 1 the highest) based on achievement in Queensland Studies Authority subjects and the Core Skills Test. They are used by universities for selecting students for courses.

[edit] The Associated Schools Sports
The Springfield College sporting program is centred around membership of The Associated Schools (TAS) for students in Years 8-12, and Junior TAS Competition (JTAS) for students in Years 4-7.
Apart from the core sports of Swimming, Cross-country and Athletics, all TAS sport is played on Saturdays over 3 trimesters. Each trimester is approximately nine weeks.
