The Solae Company is an international soy ingredients supplier based in St. Louis, Missouri. Solae is an alliance between DuPont and Bunge Limited. The company develops branded, plant-based specialty food, feed and industrial ingredients, focusing on soy. Solae ingredients are used in more than 80 percent of all clinical research on soy protein.[citation needed] Many of the studies supporting the Food and Drug Administration approved health claim are based on research using Solae soy protein. Solae employs about 3,500 people in manufacturing operations in four major regions and six technical centers around the world.

The Solae Company was founded in 1958. At first, it only produced industrial soy protein products. The business evolved to making food products 15 years later. In 1997, Dupont purchased a Soy Plant located in Memphis, Tennessee from Ralson Purina. In 2003, this plant was officially brought into The Solae Company's family. This plant uses Recycled Landfill Gas for its production equipment, in an agreement with Shelby County.

In 2007, The Solae Company announced a collaboration with Monsanto Company to develop products containing Omega-3 fatty acids.
