[edit] Sections of the Newspaper
[edit] Comic Strips
This section has comic strips from the United States of America and Canada. Classic comic strips include Motley's Crew, Between Friends, and Zits.
[edit] Sports
Sports highlights from all other Norfolk County and the rest of the world are published here. Professional and amateur sports results are published on an equal basis to each other.
[edit] Family Annoucements
This is the spot where weddings, funerals, buck and does, and other family-related events are found. While the editor(s) of this column were conservative in the past and imposed that a newly-married couple be captioned as Mr. and Mrs. John Smith, for example, today it is completely up to the user(s) on how they want to be mentioned as.
[edit] Life Column
This is a section about the life and times of various local people, businesses, and institutions. Occasionally, it mentions places outside of Norfolk County like Woodview Manor where people from the Norfolk Association for Community Living go when they are discovered to be too intelligent for the local program. The life column is usually upbeat while "sad stories" are occasionally published in this column in order to generate human interest.
[edit] Local News vs International News
Local news is usually used in the first half of the newspaper. International news is usually used in the last half of the newspaper. Depending on whether it is a slow news day internationally, locally, or both, the division of local articles and international article may not always be 50-50. In this case, local articles would get around 40-70% of newspaper coverage, while international would get around 30-60%.
