The Silent Partner is a 1978 Canadian crime film directed by Daryl Duke. It starred Elliott Gould, Christopher Plummer, and Susannah York and was also one of the earliest film appearances of comedic icon John Candy. It was the first film produced by Carolco Pictures.

Gould is a teller in a bank. He accidentally learns the scheme of a robbery planned by Plummer, then impulsively decides to make off with the money himself. Plummer's vicious thief comes after Gould to get the money back.

- The film is a remake of the Danish film Think of a Number (Tænk på et tal) from 1969 written and directed by Palle Kjærulff-Schmidt. Both are based on the novel Tænk på et tal by Danish writer Anders Bodelsen.
