The Shot may refer to several sport-related events.
- The Shot was a penalty shot goal by New York Islanders center Shawn Bates in Game 4 against Curtis Joseph of the Toronto Maple Leafs on April 8th, 2001. It is one of the most famous goals in New York Islanders history.
- The shot made by Christian Laettner on March 28, 1992 as time expired, against Kentucky in the NCAA tournament. Duke won 104-103 in what has been called "the greatest college basketball game ever played" [1] [2] [3] [4].
- The shot made by Michael Jordan on May 7, 1989 against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
- The shot made by Michael Jordan against the Utah Jazz at the close of game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals.
