The Shopping Bags

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Shopping Bags is a Canadian television series, which airs on the W Network in Canada and Fine Living in the United States. Launched in 2001, the series focuses on consumer affairs and better shopping. Each week the program looks at several goods and services to discover which one is the best. This is also done to guide viewers towards which product or service may best suit their needs. The program looks at day-to-day shopping and big ticket items, as well as having a final "Shopping Thought" at the end of each program.

The Shopping Bags is produced in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The hosts and show creators are award-winning journalists Anna Wallner and Kristina Matisic. The program is produced by the W Network, a television channel in Canada aimed at women, and the majority of the audience is most likely female at present. However, since the program is also broadcast on Fine Living in the United States, aimed at both male and female viewers, it is possible that many men watch the show as well.

In 2005, a companion book to The Shopping Bags television show was written by Wallner and Matisic.
