The Sharon Academy

The Sharon Academy is an independent high school located in Sharon, Vermont sometimes abbreviated as TSA. It is part of the Coalition of Essential Schools. As of term 2006-2007, The Sharon Academy had 120 students enrolled in the middle and high school. The school was founded by Sharon resident Judy Moore. The school recently added a new wing including the Judith Moore Hall. The current head of school is Michael Livingston. Esteemed graduates include Alicia Elizabeth Freese who is currently establishing herself as a top runner in division III cross country a Pomona College in California.

Every year TSA puts on a musical picked by that year's senior class. They pick the musical when they are juniors, having a series of meetings where they propose and discuss possible musicals. Auditions and casting of the primary roles ocurrs in the spring of their junior year.
In November of their senior year all school stops for two weeks while the entire school spends their time working on various aspects of the play, from house managing, to designing the program, to working on the lighting.
