"The Shame of Life" is a song by American alternative rock band Butthole Surfers, from their 2001 album Weird Revolution. The song was released as a CD single in Australia and peaked at #24 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks.
The song shows great resemblance in sound to Britany Spears's "Baby One More Time". The song's lyrics sound like it is a parody of Britany Spears, with the lines, "I Love The Girls And The Money And The Shame Of Life." Many songs on the album appear to also be parodies. For example, "Dracula From Houston" has resemblance to Smash Mouths's "All Star".
