[edit] Plot
It's Taylor's 19th birthday and all she wants from Ryan is to spend the next four years together. She applied for Berkley and needs Ryan to say those three words that will make her birthday the best, but has some tough times trying to get them out.
Kaitlin walks in on Julie and Frank and taunts Frank about being in prison. Julie becomes upset with Kaitlin and says they'll talk later.
Taylor invites Ryan over for dinner and attempts to get him drunk enough to say that he loves her. Surprisingly, Ryan isn't drunk, but Taylor is. Taylor tries one last time to get Ryan to say he loves her, and he does. But Taylor passes out. Ryan then sees the Berkley letter on Taylor's desk.
The next morning, Taylor drinks coffee and talks discusses with Summer if Ryan really meant what he said. Taylor almost loses her Berkely letter, but gets it back. Ryan talks with Taylor about the Berkley letter and thinks it won't work, which upsets Taylor to the point where she leaves her own birthday party.
After Kaitlin tries to sabotage Frank's relationship with Julie, Julie tells Frank that right now she needs to be spending some time with her daughter. Julie and Kaitlin then go for ice cream. Ryan tells Kaitlin that no matter what happens with Frank and Julie, he'll always be her brother. Kaitlin tells Ryan that if he doesn't tell Taylor he loves her, he's an idiot. Surprisingly, Ryan agrees.
Seth overhears/records a conversation with Summer and Kirsten. Summer says she's sorry and she just wants him to find something he really cares about. Seth gets an idea, he can be a critic. Seth and Summer then go rent a movie.
Ryan stops by Taylor's with her birthday present: all her French poems bound into a book. Ryan says he loves Taylor, and he doesn't want to lose her. Ryan & Taylor kiss and the room begins shaking...
