The Sacred Trusts
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Sacred Trusts are more than 600 piece treasures kept in the Privy Chamber of the Topkapi Palace Museum, Istanbul.
Muslims believe that this treasure include:
- Swords of Prophet David[citation needed], Prophet Muhammad and his companions,
- Turban of Prophet Joseph[citation needed],
- The standard of Prophet Muhammad,
- A hair from the beard of Prophet Muhammad,
- Footprint of Prophet Muhammad,
Most of the trusts can be seen in the Topkapi Palace Museum, however, the core of them, including the Holy Mantle and the Honored Standard, can only be seen during the month of Ramadan. The Quran has been recited near these treasures without interruption since they were brought to the Topkapi Palace.
