The SNES Game Maker is an emerging project by Jordan William Johnson that will allow people to create, compile, and ultimately execute actual ROMs for the Super Nintendo (NSTC), Atari 2600, and Nintendo Entertainment System via an easy-to use GUI similar to The Games Factory. The program when completed will be available for Windows and UNIX-Like systems.
Development is scheduled to begin in Summer 2008.

[edit] Extension and Support Notes
The file extension for a SNES rom is (*.smc).
This program should not only make the games playable on the Nintendo Entertainment System but also the Sony PlayStation 2 with the use of an emulator called SNES-Station designed for the PS2 (this executes the "*.smc" file), the requirements to use this emulator is to either use of a Modchip or a Swap Magic 3 device.
