The Rowing Song
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"The Rowing Song" is a song from the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. It was sung by Gene Wilder, who played Willy Wonka in the film. It was sung while the group took the boat Wonkatania after the field full of candy and the chocolate river scene. It happens to be one of the more visually interesting scenes in the movie. Reportedly, the actors in the scene were unaware if Wilder was playing Willy Wonka or having some kind of real "freak-out."
The song was sampled by Pendulum for the song "Through The Loop" which is found on their 2005 album, Hold Your Colour.
A version of the song has been recorded by Marilyn Manson under the title Prelude (The Family Trip) and it is the opening track on their Portrait of an American Family album.
