The Research
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Research are an indiepop band from Wakefield, United Kingdom. The members are: Russell 'The Disaster' (vocals/synthesizers), Georgia (bass/vocals), and Sarah (drums/vocals). Their songs - typically about themes of love, loss and fear - are notable for their plaintive lyrics, vocal harmonies, and use of a synthesizer in place of a guitar.
In February 2006 they released their debut album Breaking Up. They are signed to At Large Recordings, a subsidiary of EMI.
The band have recently gone through some significant changes, in which they no longer use a synthesizer. The band has recruited another member (Johnny White) who plays lead guitar, Russel now plays rhythm guitar and remains lead singer.[1]
