[edit] Production notes

The production was filmed back to back with the The Plague of the Zombies, and used many of the same sets, including exterior shots in the grounds of Oakley Court (seen burning in the final frames). The script was novelized by John Burke as part of his The Second Hammer Horror Film Omnibus paperback in 1967.

[edit] Quotes

Dr Franklyn: "I have told you of the years I have spent in the East investigating their primitive religions. There was one particular religious cult that kept evading me...like the Leopard people of Africa this was a secret society and their secret jealously guarded...'Orang-Sanctu': 'The Snake People' - very few people have heard of it outside Borneo and there they never dare speak of it".
