The Remingtons was an American country music group composed of Jimmy Griffin (guitar, vocals), Richard Mainegra (guitar, vocals), and Rick Yancey (bass guitar, vocals). All three members were previously members of soft rock groups: Griffin was previously a member of Bread, while Mainegra and Yancey had previously been part of another soft-rock group called Cymarron.[1] In addition, Griffin had previously been a member of a country music trio called Black Tie, which charted one single in 1990.[2]
The Remingtons recorded two albums on Nashville, Tennessee-based BNA Records. Their debut album, Blue Frontier, produced three singles, including "A Long Time Ago", which reached Top 10 on the Billboard country charts.[3] The second album (1993's Aim for the Heart), however, produced no Top 40 country hits. By 1993, the Remingtons disbanded and Griffin continued to perform solo, until he died of cancer in 2005.[2]
