The Reasoning

The Reasoning are a rock band from Cardiff, formed in August 2005. They consist of ex-Magenta bassist Matthew Cohen (bass), Lee Wright (guitar), Vinden Wylde (drums), Gareth Jones (keyboards and vocals), Dylan Thompson (guitar and vocals), and Rachel Cohen (vocals and percussion) who has returned to the music scene after her departure from Karnataka having won Best Female singer for the Classic Rock Society for three consecutive years.^[1]

The Reasoning's debut album, Awakening, was released on 26 March 2007. It was mixed by Dave Meegan who has worked with, among others, Marillion and U2. Steve Rothery of Marillion makes a guest appearance with the guitar solo on "Within Cold Glass". Lead vocals are shared between the band's 3 vocalists, all 3 of whom a section of the lead vocals on the album's title track.

The band's debut album Awakening was given a rating of 8 out of 10 in the August 2007 issue of Classic Rock making it the highest rated album reviewed that issue.
