The Prague Playhouse was established in 2003. It's primary focus is to encourage the development of English language theatre in Prague. It's first production in 2003 was American Evening, a set of short plays from American playwrights.[1] Another element to the Playhouse are the acting classes they offer. The Meisner technique classes are taught at the Playhouse.
A recent collaboration started in 2007, when the Prague Playhouse devised a playwriting contest with The Prague Post. The Prague Post Playwriting Contest has just completed it's 2nd successful year. The contest asks for submissions from writers who live, or have lived in Prague. The plays can be of any genre, and the preferred length is 30mins.
