The Philippine STAR is a daily broadsheet circulated nationwide in the Philippines. Owned and published by PhilSTAR Daily, The Philippine STAR has an established circulation in Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia.
It was founded on July 28, 1986 by veteran journalists Max Soliven, Betty Go-Belmonte and Art Borjal.
A July 2007 survey, conducted by Synovate, found that the Philippine STAR is the country's third most popular newspaper with readership at 36%, after the Philippine Daily Inquirer and Manila Bulletin.[1] The main focus of its classified ad section deals with real estate and banking. [2] It was described by Chris Rowthorn of the Lonely Planet as a cheerful and feel-good newspaper.[3]
