The Paul Brown Show is a radio program on one of Edmonton, Alberta's main alternative, rock and classic rock FM channels, The Bear, owned by Astral Media Radio. The program, aired between 5:30 AM and 10:00 AM, Edmonton local time, is hosted by DJ's Paul Brown, Yukon Jack, and Gillian Foote. The show mainly revolves around humor and consist of several prank calls (the Paul Brown Show is infamous for prank calling then-premier Ralph Klein into thinking California Governer Arnold Schwarzenegger wanted to have dinner with him; Paul Brown used an Arnold prank soundboard). There are several contests as well, and even a contest between Yukon Jack and Paul Brown in the Paul VS. Yukon: War of the Wages.
The Paul Brown Show won a big award this year, ON AIR TALENT OF THE YEAR at the 2008 Canadian Music Industry Awards (CMA's) in Toronto. The Bear also won ROCK STATION OF THE YEAR for 2008. The Bear was also nominated for Program Director of the Year and Music Director of the Year.

Here, the cast of PBS discuss anything related to celebrities that makes headlines, such as DUI convictions, rehab, etc. "Some of You don't give a crap, we know. But this is the Paul Brown Show, so, here's some more celebrity dirt!"

This is where Yukon Jack rants and tears apart whatever is annoying him. Whether it be rookie motorbikers, hookers, drug busts or trade deadlines, he'll go on and on about it.

[edit] Contests
[edit] Really, Really Tough Contest
This contest is comprised of daring and challenging activities, whether it be Edmonton's smallest penis and being locked in a basement bathroom for in excess of 24 hours with a continuous loop of a small audioclip sampled from Green Day's "Wake Me Up When September Ends" to being zipped up in a small sleeping bag in the nude with another nude individual of the same sex. Each "mini contest" enters the winning individual a chance to win $40,000 in cash.
[edit] Paul VS. Yukon: War of the Wages
This contest is between Paul Brown and Yukon Jack. This contest had started because of a budget issue regarding raises; there was only enough money to give one of the two a raise, in the spring of 2007. During their "war", they battled each other in different contests such as taking their boss' wife on a date, working on a farm, playing a game of ice hockey (Edmonton Oilers' Jarret Stoll acted as referee), fighting Woman's Boxing Champ Jelena Mrdjenovich and riding a mechanical bull.
In the winter/spring of 2008, Paul and Yukon had a rematch, where they had to dance with children at their dance class. Rather than taking the money as a raise, it was donated to charity.
[edit] Sid and the Good Kid
In this contest, a child would be chosen to watch Sid the Kid play the Edmonton Oilers with Paul Brown. The winner was chosen based on the good deeds they performed for others.
