The Palace of Laughter, The Wednesday Tales #1, is a novel by Jon Berkeley, published in 2006. It tells the tale of an orphan named Miles Wednesday.
[edit] Plot introduction
Throughout the story, Miles meets many new people, some evil and some good. His first new friend is a tiger, who nearly kills him. The tiger tells Miles that he can "smell the circus in him". Ironically, a new circus comes to town. Miles sneaks in, and is shocked when a small girl nearly falls into midair, but then she flies to safety, and the crowd is thrilled. Miles meets this girl, who is really a Song Angel called Little. He rescues her from the wicked circus and its evil ringmaster. Miles and Little walk and encounter many adventures as they try to find a place called "The Palace of Laughter", which they find out is really an awful place.
[edit] Sequel
This is a wonderful, humerous book about Miles and Little. They will go on an adventourous chase for The Tiger's Egg, a rare and valuble stone containing the soul of a tiger.
