The Outline is an experimental band from Los Angeles, CA formed in 2002. The group's first release was a self-recorded EP, The Outline Proudly Presents The Chestnut Tree, in 2005. The band was signed by Fearless Records in the summer of 2006. The band then recorded their full length album You Smash It, We'll Build Around It and it was released on July 11, 2006. They have toured with Panic At The Disco, Saosin, Vedera, Forgive Durden, Envy on the Coast, and Polysics among others.

Over the last few weeks The Outline has been in pulse studios in silverlake with Chris Fudurich recording sounds for their second record. They will continue tracking guitars, bass, and drums there until the end of the month. then they will head over to Fudurich's studio for a few weeks to finish up all the keys, vocals, and mixing. They have spent along time writing and arranging all of these songs so it feels great to finally hear them coming together.

" we just want to thank everybody for bearing with us. we know it's taking a long time. please be patient and rest assured that we are working around the clock to finish this up a soon as possible. stay tuned we'll be posting pictures and video from the recording process" was a message posted on The Outline's Myspace page

On saturday February 16th, 2008 the band posted a studio clip that had some footage of the guys in the studio and a clip from one of their upcoming songs.
