[edit] History
The Other was founded in 2002 in Leichlingen, Germany. Rod Usher, Sarge von Rock, Dr. Caligari and Andy Only started out as a Misfits cover band under the name Ghouls in 1999. The Other made a name for themselves soon after their foundation, especially due to their outfits, which are inspired by old horror movies. Punk and deathrock fans appreciated the band's sound, which can be called a mixture of punk, deathrock, rockabilly, and metal. Their contribution to the compilation This is Horrorpunk created worldwide attention, and after the release of the debut album They're Alive The Other supported bands such as the Misfits, Wednesday 13, Balzac, and The 69 Eyes. The second album, We Are Who We Eat, was released in 2006 and confirmed the status of the band. Two European tours and gigs with Bela B., Wednesday 13, and The Meteors, as well as many festivals, followed.
[edit] Lineup
The only lineup change took place in December of 2006, when bassist and founding member Andy Only left the band. The former roadie Migore Drake became the new bassist.
