"The One" is a dance-pop–electronica song performed by Australian singer Kylie Minogue for her tenth studio album, X (2007). The song was written by John Andersson, Johan Emmoth, Emma Holmgren, and the band, Freemasons. Minogue and Richard Stannard provided additional lyrics.[1] The song was produced by Freemasons and Stannard. Freemasons confirmed "The One" as the fourth single from X. On May 21, 2008, the British tabloid, "The Sun" released the confirmation. [2]
The song (originally titled "I'm The One") was recorded by electronica group Laid featuring Emma Holmgren, in 2006. The song was then re-worked with Minogue's vocal along with new verses.
To date, Minogue has performed the song on her ITV special, The Kylie Show. She also included the song on her KYLIEX2008 tour however, the song was pulled after opening night and has since then only been performed in Oslo and Stockholm.
