After murderer Katharine White is executed, reporter, Beth Chandler (Susan Tyrell) goes to the uncle of the deceased murderer, played by Vincent Price, to find out more about the town's history. He begins by telling her that the town is evil, and then tells her four horror stories/events from the past: an obsessed man doesn't let death stop him from his lover, a criminal is introduced to the ups and downs about holding the secret to eternal life after meeting a hermit living among the woods, a famous glass-eater at the local fair falls in love with a normal girl, and a group of confederate soldiers fall into the hands of a society of deadly kids during a war.
