The Oaks Mall is a shopping center located in Gainesville, Florida, U.S.A. It has 901,000 square feet of gross leasable area, and is a super-regional shopping center.[1][2] It is located at 6419 W. Newberry Rd., Gainesville, Florida.
The mall is owned by General Growth Properties.
The mall serves an extremely large trade area stretching into 11 counties with a population growth rate nearly double the national average. The center also benefits from its close proximity to over 64,000 students attending the nearby University of Florida and Santa Fe Community College. The mall's official policy is to prohibit photography yet not to publicly post its policy.
The mall has several stores for the youth generation including: American Eagle, Hollister, Aeropostale, Abercrombie & Fitch, Hot Topic, and Buckle.
In late May 2007, thieves stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from Jewelry Works and Creative Jewelry, two jewelry stores at the mall.[3]
