The Nurses was a soap opera that aired on ABC from September 27th, 1965 to March 31st, 1967. The show was a continuation of a serialized primetime drama aired on CBS and was originally called 'The Nurses' when it premiered in 1962. For the second season, the title was expanded to 'The Doctors and the Nurses.'
The setting (Alden General Hospital) and the main characters were the same. The cast included Shirl Conway, Zena Bethune, Claudia McNeil, Lee Patterson, Melinda Plank, Judson Laire, Nat Pollen, Nicholas Pryor, Mary Fickett, Sally Gracie, Paul Stevens, and Lesley Woods.
The producer was Doris Quinlan, who later produced One Life to Live. Several of the performers on this show were later on One Life to Live. The music for the series was composed by Frank Lewin.
